Wills and Estate Planning
Estate planning matters include the creation of wills, trusts, guardianships, durable powers of attorney, living wills, and more. I help clients plan for their future and the futures of their loved ones by assisting them in creating an effective strategy for asset protection and wealth transfer.
Whether or not you execute a Last Will and Testament, your heirs may still need to go through the probate process. A properly drafted and executed Will makes this process less expensive and less time-consuming. During the probate process, a petition is made to the court to take control of the estate of the deceased. The executor named in the will or the court-appointed administrator is empowered by the court to pay all legally enforceable debts of the estate and carry out the disposition of all property of the deceased. This process usually takes a year or so to complete and can be confusing and frustrating for surviving heirs. I can help remove the mystery surrounding the process and walk with you through the process from start to finish.
Corporate and Business Law
I provide corporate representation to business clients at various stages in their development. I advise clients on entity formation, matters of day-to-day corporate governance, as well as on the structuring and drafting of employment and other business contracts with an emphasis on avoiding litigation.
Every individual and business requires, in some form at some time, assistance with the drafting, review, and/or negotiation of a contract. Depending upon the type of business and the needs of each client, a contract may be a non-competition agreement for an employee, a vendor’s contract for the purchase of a product, a lease agreement for office space, a home purchase contract, or a service or performance agreement. Please contact me if I can draft, review, or negotiate a contract for you.
